What is EcoWater and what do you provide?
EcoWater has been making water cleaner and safer for homes since 1925. Today, we are one of the world’s largest manufacturers of residential water treatment systems. We provide whole home water softeners, refiners, and reverse osmosis drinking water. EcoWater installs and warranties all of our products.
What is a water purification system?
Water purification is the process of removing undesirable chemicals, biological contaminants, suspended solids and gases from contaminated water. The goal is to produce water fit for a specific purpose. Most water is disinfected for human consumption (such as drinking water), but water purification may also be designed for a variety of other purposes, including fulfilling the requirements of medical, pharmacological, chemical and industrial applications.
Purifying water may reduce the concentration of particulate matter including suspended particles, parasites, bacteria, algae, viruses, and fungi, as well as reducing the amount of a range of dissolved and particulate material derived from the surfaces that come from runoff due to rain.
The standards for drinking water quality are typically set by governments or by international standards. These standards usually include minimum and maximum concentrations of contaminants, depending on the intended purpose of water use. To find the water quality of your area, feel free to visit the EPA Consumer Confidence Report website for a searchable map.
What is a water softener?
A water softener treats your water at the point it enters the home. It removes the impurities before the water travels through your pipes and into your water-using appliances, and before you draw water from the taps of your bathrooms and kitchen. In other words, it removes the impurities before the water is used or consumed.
What is a water refiner?
An EcoWater Systems water refiner softens your family’s water by removing the hardness minerals and sediments that weren’t removed by the municipality, and it also removes the chlorine taste and odor that is prevalent in city water. By adding a layer of coconut shell carbon to the treatment system, the objectionable odor and taste of chlorine is removed without the need for a separate carbon filter system and subsequent filter changes. We also have systems that remove chloramine (chlorine and ammonia).
What is a reverse osmosis system and why do I need it?
We offer a 3-stage reverse osmosis drinking water system that includes a faucet, RO membrane and carbon filters, and a 3 gallon tank.
The quality of your home’s water may meet local standards, but it might not meet your own. Reverse osmosis drinking water purification systems are usually used in the kitchen, where you are most apt to get your drinking water, and where you prepare all of your food and beverages. Also, the methods used to treat municipal water – including chlorine- could be impacting the smell and taste of your mixed beverages and your cooking. A drinking water system provides bottled water quality, without the bottled water price paid at the store and at the recycling center.
Isn’t my tap water treated enough?
The EPA allows certain levels of chlorine, ammonia, chloramines, lead, mercury, fluoride, and even arsenic (!) to remain in any city’s drinking water. The water you drink, cook with, shower in and bathe in then runs through miles and miles of metal pipeline coated in years of contaminants before finding its way directly to your glass, measuring cup, pet’s water bowl or bathtub. Do you really want to take the chance of prolonged exposure?
Can you send someone to test my water?
Yes! We can send a water specialist to your home for free to analyze your water and recommend the best package for you with no obligation to purchase. Please leave your best contact information here and I can set that appointment for you. Since the specialist’s presentation is very detailed and informative, we recommend having both spouses present at the water analysis. The water specialist will recommend which system will work best for your needs and wants, explain the difference in the systems and give you an exact quote.
What is the difference between your systems and the less expensive systems sold online and elsewhere?
The less expensive products other companies sell are entry-level appliances, while ours are premium quality investments to protect your home. Most systems in the market only have a 1 year warranty, while our warranties range from 10 years to lifetime. Unlike the other systems, or products have the ability to remove chlorine, chloramines, and other chemicals. Our products have upgraded technology that will constantly monitor the softness of the water and notifies the owner when to add more salt. They can also detect if you have a leak somewhere in your home.
How do I know when I need a replacement filter for my system?
Like a car or an air conditioner, water filtration systems work best when the filters are changed regularly. When any filter isn’t changed it begins to stop filtering correctly, and you wind up with contaminants making it through the barrier. You ever change an air filter? Yuck! Most of EcoWater’s systems need a new filter every 6-12 months. If you are unsure when your filter was changed last, please call 877-534-5837 and we can look that information up for you.
How can I order a new filter for my home?
